KMVFD is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit — the only fire and emergency response organization serving the remote communities of McCarthy and Kennicott, deep inside Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve.
Our volunteers train for structural and wildland fire response, work alongside our local EMS on emergency medical calls, aid with search and rescue, and work with state and federal partners on Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) fire operations.
Every dollar donated and every hour volunteered goes straight back into keeping our community, and the visitors who explore this incredible place, safe.
